Duck Hunting on the Great Marsh, Massachusetts North Shore (2019)
Winning Bid: $460.00
The Great Marsh is the largest salt marsh in New England and includes over 20,000 acres of marsh, barrier beach, tidal river, estuary, mudflat, and upland islands extending across the Massachusetts North Shore from Gloucester to Salisbury.
Our camp sits on open marsh southwest of Plum Island. It has almost 800 square feet of insulated interior space, an indoor (but primitive) privy, wood stove heating, and uses propane for light and cooking.
Black ducks, mallards, teal, bufflehead, goldeneye, Canada geese, and mergansers frequent the area. When things get slow, or we just want exercise, we stalk the marsh. Jump shooting can be excellent.
